Find out exactly where your NZ Native veneer comes from

Sustainability

Prime Panels is proud to lead the way in introducing Track my Tree - an exciting  new initiative that provides confidence that your veneer panel has been sustainably sourced - and has a clear chain of custody from the farm or forest right through to our veneer plant in Auckland.

The Track my Tree code is printed on the invoice when our NZ native veneer panels are sold.  The code is also affixed to the side of the veneer panel when it leaves our plant.  By entering the code, you can:

  • view the relevant MPI permit for sustainable harvest
  • See the source type for the tree (or group of trees) such as windblown
  • View the map to see the location your veneer panel came from

Even if you don't have a code provided when our panels are sold, you can still browse our Track my Tree database, filtering your search by species type (you just won't be able to see the code).

Using veneer is a far more sustainable option than solid timber with one cubic metre of solid timber yielding around 900 square metres of veneer.

For more insight, view the Track my Tree video.
